I feel that the spread of the new coronavirus, which has engulfed the whole world, has forced us to respond to changes in the way we work and live.
Of course, it is important to find work that is rewarding, but the fundamental question is how to maintain our own health and live our lives.
Do the people around us (family, workplace, business partners) share each other's health conditions and live their lives?
These things have become essential requirements for living.
In addition, when one's health deteriorates, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to receive various treatment services quickly and effectively, and to be able to recover one's health as soon as possible.
In order to support this kind of lifestyle, we want to create a system that allows people to “easily check their own health and prevent illness before it worsens” by providing “comprehensive testing services as preventative medicine” and “remote doctor consultations and prescription services”.
To this end, we hope to support the health of people in Japan and around the world by mobilizing the skills of our laboratory technicians, the knowledge of our engineers about systems, and the strengths of our various members.

In the current phase of the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the number of deaths in Japan has been kept low compared to other developed countries around the world.
However, we need to recognize that this is only because of the desperate efforts of medical staff, the work of cluster response teams, and the cooperation of the public, such as refraining from going out, that we have managed to get through this by sheer luck.
In neighboring countries, such as Taiwan and South Korea, the spread of the virus was successfully contained thanks to the swift response of the whole country, and this was made possible by fully utilizing the lessons learned from the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the MERS epidemic in 2015.
In Japan, however, the lessons of past infectious disease outbreaks have not been fully applied, and there have been delays in not only the development of a PCR testing system, but also in securing infectious disease beds, and there have even been times when the country's healthcare system has come close to collapse.
The damage caused by infectious diseases may seem small at first and not be considered a big deal, but as the spread of infection spreads, the situation gradually worsens and can lead to tragic circumstances.
In this respect, even if the spread of infection has subsided, we must not let our guard down.
What is needed above all else as a countermeasure against infectious diseases is the rapid establishment of a testing system centered on PCR testing,
and even among the various testing methods, the accuracy of testing should be given the utmost importance.
Even if the testing system is expanded, if the accuracy is low, it could lead to confusion in the medical field due to false positives and false negatives.
In addition, measures to prevent infectious diseases are not something that can be applied uniformly to all locations across the country. While basic measures such as wearing masks and avoiding the three close contacts should be taken, the size of the space, ventilation efficiency, number of people entering, and the flow of people within the facility should be considered individually for each environment, such as workplaces, event venues, and restaurants.
In order to deal with not only the current novel coronavirus infection, but also the various infectious diseases that are expected in the future, it is necessary to have a firm response to infectious diseases through the expansion of these highly accurate testing systems and individual infection countermeasures.
